Default Thanks Tubby Roadtrek is a major difference.

I just got my 2010 Chevy Roadtrek Simplicity 210 (2011) back from getting

Airlifts, Tuff-Truck coils (cut down), and an alignment. All at cousin's 4x4 shop. Cutting the coils was no fun they said but really liked the printed and highlighted notes/specs from this forum I handed them.

It's truly great.

Now, the harder part, getting the tin pan rattle out of the dash!
Brakes and rotors, rear sway bar next.

How did you cut the Tuf-truk springs and how much you cut off?

Were those the 1.03" diameter wire ones?


Normally the a springs are cut with a cutting wheel on a right angle grinder of some sort 4.5" wheel on an electric, 7" diameter on electric or a 3" on a straight or angle air powered one.


You only need to cut through one coil diameter so 1.03" so it could probably even be done with a hacksaw on many springs, I think. It would slow and hard to hold well, though.


It usually isn't a big deal to do so I don't know why an experienced 4X4 shop would have issues with it as it pretty common.

I've deleted (bad habit) my email trail from ordering them a while back plus the invoice got tossed at the shop....ugh. Anyway, I'll call Tuff Truck and get it that way to double check.

Tuff truck confirmed TT-1617 are the coils.
The shop guy is out and they’ll get back about how much was cut off
