Default Towing a car with Roadtrek

I am planning on buying a Kia Soul to tow behind my 2010 Roadtrek 210 Popular. It has the continental spare tire, and I wonder if anyone has had experience towing a car with this kit. Several years ago, I towed a car with my Class A, and I think the towbar left enough clearance, but I need to be sure the spare tire won't interfere when turning.

You can buy an extension for your hitch. Amazon has one to extend the hitch out by 8".

I think most towbars should be level or close to it (when both vehicles are on level ground). That often means that you need a drop hitch when pulling a low to ground vehicle like a small car behind a higher from the ground RV. That drop hitch, if needed, will likely give you the extra clearance (if needed).

In this case there is no substitution for actually checking and confirming clearance as it is very unlikely you'll find someone with exactly the same setup as yours.

Towed a Jeep Compass on a U-Haul dolly behind a 2005 RT 210 Pop with the rear mounted spare. Experienced no problems with clearance.

Expect engine and transmission cooling problems when towing with the Chevy.

Default Towing with continental kit

We tow a smart car, and the normal roadmaster all terrain bar has enough clearance for whatever car is being towed. I think others would also. Do not think you would need an extension.

We did have have coolant and tranny temps when driving in the mountains whether we towed or not. I added a tranny cooler, new fan clutch, new radiator, and since i had 120,000 miles on it, did some preventative maintenance items like new water pump, thermostat, serpentine belt, and added 2 electric fans with a switch that i can turn on if needed. So far so good.
