Default Upgrading My AC

My class b has a window type air conditioner mounted in the side wall on the drivers side. It appears to be around 10,000 BTU and it plugs into a 110 volt outlet. The unit has a 30 amp service plug.

I would like to upgrade to a larger AC and one that also has a heating option as well if possible. Can anyone advise me on how big an AC with the heat option I can use without overpowering the current factory installed electrical service.

Find your electrical panel and hopefully one of the breakers is labeled as being for the air conditioner. My guess is that it will be a 15amp breaker. There is a small chance that the van manufacturer wired that circuit for 20amps and put in a 20amp breaker but you'll probably find it is 15amps.

110v and 15amps will narrow down your choices for a window type air conditioner.
I found 3 here.

There are so many 220/240v units out there now.

Here's another air conditioner with heat:

8000 BTU cooling

I would have thought that you could go up to 12,000 BTU and still be at or under 12amps continuous use. You should be able to find a 10,000 BTU unit.
I think I get one with R-410A Refrigerant. That's what I want for my rooftop air conditioner.
