Default What is Wrong With Suburban?

What is Wrong With Suburban?

Why are all the upfitters abandoning ship en masse?

Suburban water heaters and furnace seem to be the standard RV equipment for ages. But now the upfitters are changing to Adle, Truma, Webasto, Espar...

Quieter, better heat distribution, more energy efficient, single unit for heat/hot water is more compact which is especially important in a Class B.

But when I read about all the problems that so many have with some of these, I feel like the good old Suburban option sounds so easy and dependable...

And gassers, too. Both Webasto and Espar have gas versions.

I managed to ware out a set of motor brushes trying to heat through the winter. The heater needs a brush less motor.

Not so sure about Webasto and Espar, but Travato people seem to be overwhelmingly pleased with the Truma.. I am.

Update: I have heard that there is a new quieter model that may have a "Brush less" motor.
