Default Wine glass holder?

I have a small cupboard where I keep 2 wine glasses. I have tried various methods of keeping them from moving around (or falling when I'm on gravel roads), and none has worked.

I tried velcroing around the glasses this time, but the back of the cupboard is fabric, so it didn't hold. I've also tried bubble wrap around the glasses, which also slides off.

Any ideas on how to stabilize the glasses?

We carried two wine glasses and two coffee cup mugs and put the wine glasses inside the mugs upside down. On our last trip we switched to stemless wine glasses. In fact we bought these stainless steel wine glasses from REI Coop that don't spill.

Some ideas: (finding some of them in North America might be difficult)

http://woozie.com/

http://www.firebox.com/product/1140/Wine-Glass-Holder (use screws instead of suction cup)

Use acrylic wine glasses.

http://www.amazon.com/StemGrip-Stemware ... B000OAGD0C

Keep the wine glasses in the box them came in.

or a homemade clip using clothes pegs

Thank you all for the wonderful ideas.

Here's what I'm trying, and will let you know if it works. Take one small, strong box from Christmas that had jellies in it (it has a tall back),and insert a large car sponge. Trace and cut out circles for tops of wine glasses. Insert glasses (they insert quite a way into the foam) and cross your fingers.

Actually, I might add a bit of velcro to the cardboard back of the box to hold the stems. I checked and the box fits nicely into the space.

What about mounting an under cabinet stemware rack like these? Just find a spot to mount it, looks like it might need 4 wood or sheet metal screws, and hang your wine glasses. They'll make your galley area look very "posh", like a fancy restaurant.

I guess we are a little weird. To us, a glass just for wine is a waste of space and effort. Wine, water, beer, vodka, soda, tea, same glass. The taste doesn't really change any, just the perception! Dixie cup, plastic cup, empty (refilled), soda bottle, no matter, we are camping, not fine dining.

Personally, we use little plastic cups, or bigger plastic cups, purchased at Walmart for "beverages"
requiring a semi-civilized container. You can clean 'em and re-use 'em, or toss and replace 'em.
I agree about function versus form.

We're using plastic (maybe acrylic for wine). DW definitely prefers some sort of wine glass for wine.

Better the wine in the wine glass, than the whine and the flying glass?

Size matters when it comes to swill.

Thought I'd add a PS. My carved out car sponge wine glass holder is doing just fine. Went over some bumpy roads and the glasses stayed where they were suppose to, so if you're in to using a wine glass for wine, as I am, this may be a solution.

I guess you don't care for the idea of drinking out of the bottle in a brown paper bag.
How about making a under the cabinent rack that would fit around the glass with a lip so you must lift and pull it out rather than just sliding it out. You may also secure it by velcro so it won't bounce out. You would need one for each glass.
Or if you want to hold it in place while laying in a drawer suspend them in plastic wrap inside a box and spray some spray foam insulation between the box and plastic wrap. this will form a perfect fit for your glasses. Cut off all excess foam and if you are good enough seamstress you may even be able to make a velvet liner that can be glued in.

Great idea!! Especially with bad camp site footing, in the dark, on your third refill trip.....

We've got a metal wine glass rack that I bought at the Container Store.

It's mounted under the spice rack in our LTV. We have acrylic wine glasses and a tiny bungee cord at the open end of the wine glass rack to keep them from sliding out. It holds 3 glasses.

Our van is currently getting its oil changed at the dealership. When it gets home later, I'll take a picture of it for you. I found this puppy right after we bought the van and I am SO proud of it. Took a while before my husband got up the nerve to drill holes in our new baby.

We don't use them, but that's what I had suggested earlier in this thread. Looks good!!
