Default Winnebago 70X Bed

I have an issue with the bench seat bed in the back of the ERA 70X. The head and feet are 2" higher than the center of the bed. I have no response from Winnebago engineering on what can be done to make the bed flat. Customer service suggests that since it is a seat, it can't make a flat bed. Camping World says there is nothing they can do about it without direction from Winnebago. With all the warranty work required and the poor service at Damping World, my coach has been in the shop more than in my hands.

Any suggestions on moving forward?

Not exactly elegant, but a pragmatic and practical solution would be to go to a foam shop. Have 2 pads made that are 2'" thick. These will level the entire bed. Don't drive yourself crazy by chasing unrealistic/complicated solutions. (Did you test the bed before you purchased the rig? .... sorry had to ask)

Would not think a $100,000++ coach would have a crappy bed. I didn't lay in it when I bought it. BS if you ask me. Also there is very little storage, none under the couch for added foam. Not sure how other 70X owners can deal with this or mine is just unique. It is a nice seat and the family enjoys it as a touring van.

I had a 70x. I gave up trying to get comfortable on the couch bed and just removed the whole thing and made a semi permanent bed with a foam mattress. I had tried foam toppers but they did not help much.

I did not need the extra rear seating so it worked for me. When I traded it in I put the couch back in so it looked original.

And once again the infamous Camping World! I wonder what all this type publicity does for Winnebago. I feel sorry for those with the problem, especially since there seems to be no authorized fix, or even a DIY fix that will get people comfortable..like you should be. Ron

Wow, to replace the seat with a foam bed. Too bad for their design. My problem is my family really likes touring Oregon in style, so we want a seat there. Probably need to add air in the rear springs to soften the ride. Really rough unless the road is smooth.
Winnebago customer service actually returned my many calls on this. They propose replacing the frame and the bottom cushion to resolve this. We shall see.
Camping World in Hillsboro has a terrible reputation. Wish I had looked before I bought. The new service manager seems to be knocking items off the list, but he never answers the call and rarely returns a call.
