136WB/213.1" or 159WB/236", the sideways berth makes sense. Make it fold-up, either split like Hymer and other Euros or one side, like Travato 59G, and you have room for bikes, etc.

From what I read on Ford's site, the shorter wheelbases do not come in the high roof.

a contrary opinion. Ford transit is almost (i said almost)as expensive as sprinter diesel.

the promaster is also less expensive and somewhat wider. i will say the zion i have 'seems' much wider than the other roadtreks i went into.

it's surprising how an extra 3-4 inches can do this

Great. Ford Transit Medium roof has max interior cargo height as 67.6" (5'-7.6").

I am 6' 2" so count me out.

FYI - Average US male height is 5'-9-1/2" and female is 5'4"

Yes. Same wheelbase vehicle but 14 inches shorter body I think.

It's main competition would appear to be the previously released Zion.

It'll be interesting to hear what Hershey Show attendees have to say about it.

Press release here: http://www.classbforum.com/forums/f9...y-pa-3818.html

That's correct. I'm interested to see if they are using the 2500 or 3500. If the 3500 then there isn't much savings in base vehicle cost. I guess we will see how they price it. I get the desire for the shorter length 159 as that is the one I chose.

Maybe just the rear area is shorter. The article says 159" wheelbase, but I think that is wrong.

You think the SRT is actually on the 136" wheelbase instead of the 159"?

Yes, I would love to see one on the 136WB, but I think that may right. The Zion is built on the 3500 159WB "EXT" which is 250" - 20'10" long (RT lists 20'11"). They are stating the Zion SRT is built on the 159WB "regular" (not clear if 2500 or 3500) , which is 236" - 19'8" long.

A reasonable guess is this may eventually replace the Agile, built on a Sprinter base and is 19'5" long. The Promaster model reduces the price, is wider inside and has a slightly smaller turning radius on a vehicle only 3" longer.

It is on the 19'8" model, rather than the 20'11" - using the numbers from Sportsmobile's fun comparison chart on their website. I guess that makes it a 15 inch difference. It may very well replace both the Agile and the 170... one or both. It would be nice to see some other floor plans though.

I love it! Pretty much what we have been looking for. I would like a bit smaller compressor refrigerator if they could put in the convection oven/microwave combo....that would make it about perfect!

Those dimensions are incorrect. Sportsmobile is known for having incorrect information. While I'm at it, EB and LB are made up terms, which just confuse people.

According to ramtrucks.com:
The 159" WB is 236" (19.66ft)
The 159" WB Extended is 250" (20.83ft)

I don't know if the photo will show, but...

Gerry M...

You have the Zion... when you open that pantry, does everything toss itself on the floor? I have looked at this in person and can't see what holds things in.

And every converter who is using the longest claims 20'11" - which makes one wonder who is incorrect... the Ram site... or all of the converters. (Winnie says 21')

Sportsmobile uses the terms RB/EB/LB for the obvious reason that one can compare the three platforms lengths using the same terminology. To me it is logical and helpful and not at all confusing.
