Ladder for the back of the Rialta?

I have seen Rialtas with a ladder in the back to make roof access easier. Is there a special ladder that should be purchased for this? Any lessons learned we should know before moving ahead with this addition? I have researched but find very little on this topic. Thanks for any help!
