Laptop Internet Access While Traveling

Will be using my laptop while traveling. We will hopefully be traveling east and west. Besides your local internet carrier and their monthly rental for an aircard, has anyone had experiences that might be cheaper? Saw something called Boingo? Anyone got suggestions?

Hello - what we will be doing, traveling west to east, is stop in at Starbucks Coffee Shops and use the computer hook-up there. Great opportunity to get great fresh coffee and go on line to talk to family as we travel. I also noticed that Good Sams Club will have software available soon to plan ahead for camp site eligibility.
