Default 2000 PW Excel Jack Points

I've been reading some posts regarding jack points and none of them seem to apply to my rv. I would like to jack up the rear of van. I bought a floor jack and stand from Pep Boys going out of biz sale a while back.

The official Dodge 3500 jack points on frame beams are inaccessible due to RV stuff surrounding and crossing over in some places.

The differential is too far away for the jack handle (although i would be hesitant to use differential with rv weight)

Is it ok to pump up at the rear axle and place jack stand on same?

What about jacking at the rear hitch crossmembers?

Thanks....I want to check and/or replace gen fuel line.

I have used the differential and jack stands. Seemed to work.

For generator work I just make ramps out of orange blocks. Takes a bunch but I have them.

But I can't reach the differential with my jack -- too short, handle too high at end

if you have leveling blocks drive up on them to give you room to get the jack under the differential

I was just under my van ( Chev)

jacked up differential in stages ( front wheels blocked, in Park and e brake on

As I took it up I added leveling blocks to 7"- with wheels slightly higher

I have 2 sets of jacks stands- 4 ton ratcheting type ( careful with these), and 3 ton pin type

I can get the jack stands in place from the sides of the vehicle, 2 on each side.
the pin type set to height, I lower the van onto them

and raise the ratchet type up to frame as secondary support.

the wheels were lowered to the 7" blocks

and was then under the van replacing the genny fuel line and petcock.

and a general examination, admiring of the Pleasure Way work under the van

after that, I raised the diff slightly to remove the 3 blocks each side and lowered the wheels to them- I had some suspension work to do ( supersprings sumo)

removing was lift by diff, remove jackstands, lower van slowly

you may lower onto leveling blocks so you can drive off them once jack is removed

Where did you place your jack stands. I can't see a safe spot behind rocker panel. Frame? Rear axle?

The stands can go on the axle as far out as you can get them. They are fine on the tubes, or there may be room to put them on the bottom plate at the rear spring attachment point (the spring works well on our Chevy).

mine were on the frame rails as I was working on the suspension and needed to be able to lower or raise axle in relation to the van

Thanks for input. Fuel line fine. Turned out problem was capacitor. After flashing gen and running it for a couple hours all is well. (onan 2800)
