We have friends with one. We've played with it. It is fun, fairly easy to assemble and disassemble. However, it's very, very slow to paddle and much more work to paddle than a hard kayak. You will also get very wet, your bottom will be in the water.

I have pictures if you'd care to see them.

REPLY: I asked the Mfr. about how far the water would be from the top on their SeaEagle 330 based on my weight of 260 lbs. at 6'3" and he said once fully inflated and on smooth waters...and they said about one foot. What brand is your friends and yes, id like to see pics if you can post them in here. Otherwise, please email me them at Daveinlakevilla@webtv.net . And thank you much.

I have been researching and have my eye on an Advanced Elements Advanced Frame kayak. You can buy them at REI Coop.

Default Puffin 12 Folding Kayak by Pakboats

The other boat I have my eye on is the Puffin Folding Kayak. The problem is I have never seen any of these kayaks in the water with the exception of a very expensive Klepper. The stores will only demo hard shell kayaks. Paddlingnet.com has some reviews and a lot of discussion.
