Default 1.6 Liter in a sprinter??

Every now and again i come across someone advertising a 2007 Sprinter Adventurer RS with a 1.6 liter diesel engine.
Wondering if this is a typo?
If not , are these engines really adequate to power a 24ft motorhome?
Are they turbocharged?

thanks

It is a typo. The Sprinter engine in that 2007 Roadtrek is likely the 2.7L I5 OM612/OM647 156 hp CDI engine in a 2006 Sprinter. In 2008 they switched to a 3.0L V6 OM642 CDI engine in USA/CAN. Dodge also offered a 3.5L V6 M272 gasoline engine from 2008-2009. From 2015-2017 Mercedes offered the common global 2.1L I4 OM651 CDI.

The Sprinter Wikipedia page shows a 1.8L I-4 M271 engine, which also has a 1.6L variant, but the 1.6L engine is not normally supplied on a Sprinter.

It could be a red flag for several reasons;

It could be a typo. Be careful with a seller that can't get basic facts straight.

It might have a swapped engine, but that's pretty small for a vehicle that size.

Scammers sometimes post incorrect information because they don't know enough English to know any different.

I do know a Sprinter owner that specifically wanted the I4 engine, and went to some lengths to get it. They're somewhat rare.

I fully intend to have 1.6 liters in my Sprinter, but it'll be in the cabinet, not the engine.
