I use a lot of ripstock nylon. I can’t articulate why I prefer the Tyvek for this application, but I do.

Getting the coverage one wants on a Promaster is difficult. Those that cover well tend to be big and heavy... and take up too much space to store. Which is why the current versions that came with my S-SRT are stored in my garage. I just hang a curtain behind the cab... quick, light, and easy to store. But with an Axion, you probably want to use the cab when parked. I have set up seating in the rear.

Yes. I hung blackout curtains across the cab with a curtain rod. Works great. But like you said, looking for a solution to block windows so can use front cab while parked. Setup that came with Axion way too bulky and difficult.

Maybe these from vanupgrades:

Default Dometic FlyScreen FT200 -thoughts?

Thinking of buying this for axion. Any thoughts on if it will work on Axion.

That product is only sold in the UK... not here in the US. There is a company in Quebec that makes a good one and another in Austin, TX. (sorry don't recall the names for sure... one is Plisse, I believe... the Quebec company is the one used by Pleasureway) The sliding screen that was used for awhile by EHGNA was very problematic. Most ended up pulling it out because it broke and/or interfered with the sliding door.

The van upgrades one would work, but because of the size of the windows, it will still be bulky and hard to store.

The UK company will ship to USA. I want a sliding one. Think I found the Austin Texas product you mentioned. Looks promising.

Default Travato screen door -how to get?

Hummmm. The Travato has both side and rear screen door option. Can I just go to a Winnebago dealer and get side screen installed on axion?

Probably not. LOL

The company in Texas is doing their first screen on a Roadtrek Zion as we type, so they should be all ready. Although your kitchen area at the door is a little different. They are a good company. Not sure... but they may be the company doing the Winnebago screens.

Give them a call.

I am not sure that will fit. If you look at the sliding door of your Axion from the inside, when it is closed you will see that there is practically no room to add any type of frame for those type of screen doors. I explored a number of these doors, even one the one used in the Sumplicity and Zion, and they just won't fit the Axion.

Default Curtain tie backs

Like most I put up a curtain rod and black out curtains across back of cab. I have the curtains tucked into side moulding to eliminate light gaps.

Been looking for a simple fast way to tie them back.

I am using nite ize gear ties.

I tied a knot at one end and just shoved the gear tie in the moulding where the curtain was tucked in.

Working great. Just bend in and out.

Since I am no longer employed by Hymer, I can admit to being the guy who designed this van (with extreme direction given to how it was constructed and the materials used, which I apologize for) and can answer your questions regarding it.

The metal frame side screen door, like the Aktiv, will not fit the axion because of lack of space at the galley and the over door panel will interfere. They tend to jam up and break a lot too. I would not recommend the Aktiv one.

The Zion side screen magnet door will work. The rear screen won't because there's nothing to screw it into at the back. It's made locally by KW leather, the company that was on the news that laid off their entire workforce. So, if you want one, better get on it.

I love the design. Great job. Maybe the Axion will be collectors item!

Welcome to the forum Clean, and sorry for your loss of employment!

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but perhaps you could share (here or in a new thread) some of the other RT suppliers. In particular, who made the Chevy ground effects parts?

Thanks, Dick

All the creditors are listed here. Unfortunately, I haven't worked on a Chevy since 2011. Running boards are either coming from China or Fiberlam in Hamilton.

Welcome to the forum Clean!

Sorry about your situation at Roadtrek/Hymer. If you've read other threads here, there is little sympathy for RT management, but much sympathy for it's workers like yourself. It's shocking that such an iconic brand is now gone.

Please stick around because your knowledge (as you've already demonstrated) can be very helpful to those owners of recent models who need all the support they can get.

Again, best of luck to you.

Did you see post from “Clean”. He used to work at Hymer. Says Zion screen door will fit. Did you research the Zion screen door?

I bought one of those as seen on TV magnet doors.

Will see if I can fashion something.

Default Seat belt extender

I installed these. Got tired of fighting the buckle. Too low for me. Bonus the seat belt warning is gone.

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F223389076711

I used 2” heat shrink wrap to hold the original and extended seat belt buckles together. Completely reversible.

If it works for you and is comfortable, that is a great find.
