Default Fresh water shore connection

My new project - to install a new fresh water connection on my front bumper. I currently have ½” water hose with garden coupler under the hood near the cab air filter. To connect I need to lift the hood so my plan is to install a shore water inlet in the front bumper.

I am looking for:

1. Quick coupler
2. Self-seal on both ends
3. Some protection from road junk.

See the following picture what I found is available. Any comments would help, perhaps there is one made for RV with these functions built in.

Don't know of any such unit. Could you / would you make the front license plate fold down and add a window in the bumper behind it? That way you could just have the quick disconnect attached near the window so you could get to it.

I found this attractive cover, this Aquor could get popular in the RV world for pressurized shore water connection, time will tell. I need to find out available space behind the bumper to make a final decision.

I recently bought one of the license plate fold down frames. Be aware, the springs are way to strong. I'm thinking of replacing the springs with small magnets.

I asked folks from Aquor the following questions:
1. For mounting Aquor inlet in a very exposed area which cover would be best: black swinging, gray or SS flip up? Another way to ask would be - which one would provide best seal from elements in mobile application?
2. Are grey or SS or black covers spring loaded?
Here are their answers:
"……………………

1. Right now, the flap covers would probably seal a bit better than the swivel. You could tighten the tension on the flap and add a thin strip of EPDM behind the flap and it would seal out dust very well. But, we are innovators, and you want a proper out-of-the-box solution. So we're coming out with a rubber plug cover for our off-road RV customers. ETA is about a week before we finish the first prototype, and if all looks good about 3-4 weeks until it's ready for sale. …………………………………

2. No spring loads on the covers, just adjustable friction-hinges. But it's also something we're considering…………………………………………."

I am considering:
- Mount under hinged license plate flip-up cover model, (magnets?)
- Mount on open spot on the bumper with SS cover
- Mount on open spot on the bumper with SS cover with center mounted expendable rubber plug
- Wait for their 4x4 model.

OK - that version might work on an RV when they release it. The other version are all too long because they are freeze protection devices.

My Airstream Interstate has a SHURFLO City Water Entry unit. Simple and does not need a special hose adapter.

The main reason for me to use the Aquor RV is fast single hand connection. I could add a quick garden hose coupler to inlet like yours but most if not all require both hands.

Convenience is important for me, I installed the Smart Plug shore power inlet and love its convenience, so I will have both inlets convenient and fast to hook-up.

I just got an email that the new RV kit was released. Aquor folks offer discount for this new product. ""ADVENTURE". That one is 25% off either the cover or full kit" I just ordered mine.

I finally finished installation of city water inlet. My fresh water hose was under the engine hood, so bumper was a good place to mount this very new quick connect. I use their RV rubber plug and stainless steel cap. It takes 120 degree turn for quick connector to lock in.

Just got email from Aquor with a picture of another installation of their water inlet in a B-van from a Washington State van conversion company.
