I wasn't sad at all to see the floor nailer go

One of the tools I am most pleased about every time I use it is my floor jack. Night & day difference when rotating the cars tires etc. using the quick and easy floor jack compared to getting the car jack out and cranking it up & down x 4 wheels

I think something was building a nest in the engine air filter housing.

Some of the foam stuff was torn up too.

The paper doesn't look like the air filter paper though.

First ever stuck oil filter for me today. I must have over tightened it last oil change. It just started to collapse under the oil filter wrench.

I cut as much of the rubber gasket as I could get to with a razor blade. Then I removed a shield that was in the way so I could position the wrench at the top of the filter. Then I pounded on the wrench with hammer to get it to move the filter.

The wrench bent before I brought out the hammer!

Note to self - do not over-tighten an oil filter ever again

Marko,
I would find an oil filter with a thicker case. You might want to get a cap type filter wrench also.

You might want to get an oil filter wrench like this:

http://http://www.amazon.com/GearWre...+filter+wrench

I have two sizes, which will cover almost any filter.

They get the crush down at the base where the filter is much stronger.

I have switched over to Wix for all of our filters, and they still have decent cases on them.

I got the link to work: http://www.amazon.com/GearWrench-232.../dp/B000JFN9MM

That looks stronger and basically wraps around minimizing the pressure point my wrench creates. I'd have to get a different size as the filters for this van have a smaller diameter.

Any truth to the Napa Gold = Wix comments I see on forums?

For my van:
Wix: Part Details

Napa Gold: http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Ca...060_0508478917

Everything I have ben able to find out confirms the Napa Gold and Wix are the same. I ordered a supply of filters online (good pricing for sure) and 2 part numbers came in Wix boxes and one in Napa.

Those wrenches cover a range of size, so I have gotten by on 2 of them, covering everything from the tiny Honda and John Deere all the way up to the big old US V8 engine sizes.
