Taken at face value, it means that your friend's house is mis-wired.

It is not dangerous to your vehicle, but depending on the details it could be VERY dangerous to the vehicle's occupants.

I agree. If your inverter or anything else has the neutral and ground bonded, the entire body could go "hot". All you need to do at that point is be on the ground and touch the body to get zapped.

If it is a plug in tester, you may want to test some of the home's other outlets to see how widepspread it is. Be sure to let the owner know, as this is a hazard for him too.

All this is assuming the tester has read properly in the past so the van is not an issue.

Unplug!

now!

danger will robinson!

I have not found a campground pedestal miswired ( yet)- but I always check

easy to use a plug adapter and a tester*like you find at hardware store.

you want to ensure that you have hot, neutral AND ground and that voltage is below 125- for that I use a volt meter

It takes a moment to check, then you know.

and than you can plug in your camper without affecting any of the electronics, load balancers, converters, chargers etc $$$$

If you are using a 15 amp to 30 amp adaptor, and if you only see the problem when running on 15 amps, the obvious suspicion would be that the adaptor is mis-wired. This is just as dangerous as a mis-wired house.

People have died this way.
