Sounds like a plan, and I agree on the soldering. For taps like they show, I usually don't even cut the original wire and strip a short section and wrap around it and solder. Brush on "shrink tubing" substitute" and/or high end tape.


At $300 it is worth a shot, even a "reconditioned", more likely just used and cleaned up, VATS modual for your van is $150 and doesn't cover the rest of the stuff.



I would still contact them and ask how they handle the fuel pump cutoff. I the relay is still activated to run they can't just remove the signal, you would need to jumper around the relay itself.


Same goes for Pete with Viper, better find out what they say at Rockie about that.

Agreed. No way would I cut the original wire.

I’m still moving with the security light on. So much for being smug about not having a Mercedes. At least they have a limp mode!
