Gaslighting myself

Well, I just checked and the 60-amp fuse for Aux battery is good, so it's not that. Also searched briefly for info on the aux battery and couldn't find much information. The owner's manual doesn't...

Talking OMG, I forgot I wrote this!

So, my RV house battery hasn't been charging by coach motor as supposed to be (I think). Much research and tinkering to find out why, or if it's even supposed to. I found a very helpful post online...

Hi, here's an update video for y'all. I mention the things that broke over the years. Quite a list, but not out of the ordinary for an old vehicle, now with about 85K miles. It's at the shop now......

Re: Hot solenoid

I installed the Intellitec + a DPDT momentary switch and it works great. No more current drain.

Re: Just bought a 1994 Ford Coachmen 4-1-2011

Hi, I finally got around to looking at your pix, with attention to the upper bunk. I really don't like having to make the lower bed up each AM. As you know, I'm missing the sliding part, but think I...

Re: Hot solenoid

I've been wondering why there is a need for this solenoid at all. It appears to simply act as a switch. Marko uses a knife blade switch; simple enough. Why not run appropriate sized wires to...

Re: Solar panel on roof

Installed the solar panel. It went well. Used Marine Goop to glue it down + bicycle brake cable doubling as ground and fail safe tether. Appears bullet proof. Be very easy to add more panels now...

Re: Hot solenoid

I tried the Intellitec and it didn't work as advertised. (Well, maybe it does, I just read the operating manual the way I wanted it to read.) The solenoid heated up whether the main was on or off....

Re: Solar panel on roof

Preciate all the input. I don't think the cigarette lighter charges or draws from the RV battery. Would have to disconnect the car battery to see if there's still 12v at the lighter. However will...

Solar panel on roof

I just bought a small 5 watt solar panel to install on the (fiberglass) roof of my 94 Ford Coachmen. Primary use to keep the battery charged while RV is not in use. If I like it, I can add more...

Re: Hot solenoid

Great information Markpolo. I had just found the same item and information on line. Will most likely do the upgrade.

Currently, I have a simple knife-blade type house battery disconnect. ...

Re: house batteries not charging completely from vehicle battery

I recently had a similar problem. Turned out to be a 60 amp fuse blown in the fuse box in under the hood of the 1994 Ford. Fix is easy, trouble shooting is more difficult.

Hot solenoid

I solved the house battery not charging problem. There was blown 60 amp fuse in the Ford fuse box under the hood that supplied the aux. battery. While trouble shooting I found a solenoid just above...

Re: Just bought a 1994 Ford Coachmen 4-1-2011

Thanks for the storage tip ;) Welcome to the Class B Forum. Nice looking rig.

The upper bunk can become a nice storage area, with the addition of a frame and doors (and about 400 other ideas too...

Re: Fire from overfilled propane tank, need advice.

What Mike offers sounds correct. Liabilitity issues would dictate a nearly fool proof inability to over fill a propane tank. But then my propane guy was killed when it all went wrong during a...

My first RV: a 1964 GMC 3/4 ton, 305 V-6 w/Alaskan camper

I'd seen this camper parked in Belmont Heights, Long Beach, CA when I lived there c. 1975. I'd never owned an RV, but this was a pretty cool looking set up. Then one day, I saw a for sale sign in...

Hi All, Some 3 weeks ago I got a sudden impulse to buy an RV and hit the road. After intense on line research, I focused on class B RV's as being most suitable for me and my dog. My other...
