Re: Buying a used Class B

Since you're coming from a toy hauler and you're thinking side exit, I'm kinda thinking you want to trailer the toy with it... If it's gonna be more than 2000lb, be careful with the C's, their towing...

Re: Newbster is looking for advice on preparing for Boondock

Yes Dollarama up here in Canada has those vacuum/compression bags now...Single layer things like sweaters, fleeces you can shake out and fluff up again I'd do that to in a jiffy, but would be a...

Re: CB radio chatter

Picked up another set a Realistic model, again an emergency type one, but with digital tuning, this came with a telescopic whip. Tried it out one Saturday morning and was listening to skip from half...

Re: Newbster is looking for advice on preparing for Boondock

I was just thinking about what I actually have in my "kitchen" tote at the present, which is screwtop glass jars of about 3" high by 1 1/4" round, I got those 3 for a buck some while ago... it just...

Re: Newbster is looking for advice on preparing for Boondock

I love that crock pot on the road idea.

When I'm camping I don't bring a whole lot of herbs and spices, just usually make do with salt, pepper, onion salt, "seasoning salt" and poultry seasoning....

Re: On the Road Overnight Stopping

The old walmart parking lot in Niagara Falls here was (and still is) posted, not sure about the new one. (Different location)

Most unused lots will be blocked off here, locals and owners will...

Re: Grey Tank Question

Well also bear in mind that if you're drinking bottled water, sodas, coffee or pop bought at drivethru's etc, that your black tank will fill faster than your fresh tank empties.

Also I have heard...

Re: MOTORCYCLES - who does?

Yeah, well it's bad enough for cheap cars, but you can usually avoid getting burned because very few people sell cars that haven't been licensed for road use fairly recently, the thing with bikes is...

Re: MOTORCYCLES - who does?

BTW part of the reason that buyers don't refuse to buy, is that sellers of cheaper cars with UVIPS get very firm on price, as in "I advertised it at $1500, and had to pay $20 for this damn stupid...

Re: MOTORCYCLES - who does?

I understand all that, but what I'm saying is, that enforcement is ONLY against the buyer... sure the dealers comply.. private sellers, on "as-is" sales, forget it, especially when they're not...

Re: MOTORCYCLES - who does?

Well, you know what the enforcement mechanism for the UVIP requirement is? .... that the buyer has to present it to get the paperwork transferred... this pretty much means that for under $1000 and...

Re: Cellphone ticket tossed out - distracted driving laws

Some cops come off as hair trigger goons, sometimes seems best just to keep calm and non-confrontational until they go away.... I think I won't even suggest that I might fight it, because then they...

Re: First trip

Things could get "interesting" if push came to shove at many of the Provincial parks around the great lakes here. Technically, you can't take a leaf or a twig or a grain of sand in a Provincial park....

Re: Safety while traveling, gun laws in Canada

Yeah, what I was getting though, that even with unrestricted that you don't need an ATT to transport, the definition of transport is that you are taking it somewhere specific currently. Like I've...

Re: MOTORCYCLES - who does?

I'm keeping an eye out for the ideal bike as an RV companion, that would be used for "exploring" the local area, unused rail beds, unmade roads, and running to pick up milk sort of usage...

Well I...

Re: Finished one small step in my van conversion

Nice work,

I'm appreciating it more this week, since I've been doing some work to my kitchen cabinets at home, it's amazing how freakin' time consuming it can be. I think it's giving me ambition...

Re: "Clever" retasking of non RV items? for mod or build.

Actually, I've been doing a small ktichen reno at home and have been finding that decent units for the intended purpose are hard to find, also they have a lot of particle board in them making them...

Re: Safety while traveling, gun laws in Canada

I was looking into this Mike, because I'd like at some point to go "way North" where the roads run out...

And, what I was finding is that while you're legal with one branch of gov, you're getting...

I just saw a neat solution for the heaterless in a Popular Mechanics back issue. Use fire bricks on the stove, heat them up, they radiate heat for hours. It's either something to use temporarily, or...

A couple of things I like to keep in my vehicles are a couple of wire coat hangers, and a pair or two of vice grips. Both can be used for holding things on, vice grips are handy to crimp shut a holed...

Though, you could investigate the cause of the reluctance, she doesn't want to share driving in it? She's worried about the "what ifs" ?

I'd say, for the first, you might go get a...
