Or a ProMaster. Both the sprinter and ProMaster have some bone headed ergonomic choices but being trapped in the seat of the ford is across the line.

I don’t remember what RV I was in when I discovered this. I felt trapped and despite entering from the cabin I exited via the driver’s door. Some ergonomic touches were nice but this was a deal...

That’s a good point. I didn’t lose any tires when I went, so the “two spares” advice might be dated (I think tires and the roads are both better than they were 40 years ago, but you know how people...

Why are the major class-B manufactures so out of touch and behind in U.S. market?

In Alaska in general, a ProMaster will do fine. All of the roads south of the arctic circle you will do fine— sometimes they are gravel, usually while under construction, so be aware of what you have...

Would you mind telling me a bit about the tires you chose? How large? Did you have to modify the wheel wells? What do Sumo springs get you? Was that necessary for the tires?

The ProMaster is a...

If you liked the TRAVATO 59k, and the layout of the Activ but not the quality, check out the TRAVATO 59G— its a copy of the Hymer Grand Canyon (on which the activ is based too).

Shock is about the only downside I’m aware of. Higher voltage is more efficient.

12V is a legacy of ancient tech.

I think you are way underestimating how much longer the life is. Remember most stats are 1C or higher, yet most charging of a decent sized pack or via solar for even small packs, is well less than...

No I wouldn’t. And further, if you want to make an argument, make it. You’re the one making assumptions here and you totally fail to to even try to dig into the basis of my claim.

But asserting...

I have some opinions but will let experience guide me. The biggest thing is I have different priorities and allocation of space/resources than the production RVs are targeted for.

Lithium battery chemistry has been around for decades. Not so long in RVs, but then these people aren’t shipping product much different from the 1970s anyway.

Why are the major class-B manufactures so out of touch and behind in U.S. market?

Do check out the Winnebago ERA 70M. That particular model has huge tanks for a class-B, and is priced like a Winnebago. Fresh is 44, Black is 22, grey is 25 on that unit.

TCO of LFP is a whole lot cheaper than AGM.

Stick to old school technology if you want, but let’s stop with the silly claims.

This constant FUD projects insecurity.

Newbie from the PNW - Winnebago Paseo

Glad it’s working out for you! What made to choose it over the TRAVATO? (Just curious.)

I think the PNWis the perfect place for class b camping. Can’t wait to visit again.

Illuminating!

Sounds like a CSR got two customers confused and Jim couldn’t be bothered to have his facts straight.

This just reinforces the perception of the RV industry as a bunch of used car...

Could be plausible, nothing strictly wrong with it in theory. Though RVs usually have lots of junk up there so you may be cutting a lot of panels. I would put plastic over the polyiso to protect it....

I was optimistic about fuel cells in the mid 1990s. Nearly 30 years later I think they are fundamentally limited.

Why are the major class-B manufactures so out of touch and behind in U.S. market?

Wow, towables are over %86 of the whole market. Just astounding. The motor home is seemingly on its way out.

Class Bs has the strongest growth, but from tiny numbers.

Why are the major class-B manufactures so out of touch and behind in U.S. market?

Is that right? There were 500k RVs made, which would mean class-Bs are %1. I think your number is off by 10X.

Do you have a link to the data? I saw it at the RVIA site a couple months ago but...
