In Southern Ontario the RV is marked for -50F as well. I have seen my turn to slush on more than one occasion, but has never been an issue in six years.

OK ... here's the problem. When the valve for the hot water tank is open (not on bypass) I get plenty of HOT water. When I move the single lever tap handle down to COLD ... nothing. No HOT or COLD...

Yes ... I did pull off the panel inside but all the wires seemed to be OK. There is a gauge on the tank and I will rely on that till I get the problem resolved.
