1) Easy and quick to dump. Unit has macerator pump with 1 1/2 inch pull out drain hose. No gloves, rinsing etc involved.

I made a replacement cover from a kitchen cutting board, Epicurean wood/ bamboo composite. Its actually a bit thinner but was easy to shape with basic hand tools and works well.
