Re: Winnebago Trend / Itasca Viva on Ram ProMaster

I've seen some VERY poorly maintained motorhomes, and the 6.8 V10 still keeps going. I admit, I'm not well versed on the 8.1 Chevy, but I've heard few complaints about it, so that in itself is a...

Re: Winnebago Trend / Itasca Viva on Ram ProMaster

As an alternative, Nexus RV makes a 24 foot model with a large slide, and they can build it on the E-450 chassis with a greater tow rating than the generic 5000 pounds (I think they can go to 7500,...

Re: Winnebago Trend / Itasca Viva on Ram ProMaster

I think you are right. Winnebago jumped in completely, assuming they could make Euro-like motorhomes... but the problem is that there are so many disparities between the two areas. The main reason...

Re: Winnebago Trend / Itasca Viva on Ram ProMaster

The Camping World locations are getting Vivas in, and are definitely accepting preorders.

So far, from what I can tell without physically getting in one by what a dealer told me:

1: The bench...

Re: Winnebago Trend / Itasca Viva on Ram ProMaster

Thanks, I didn't see the "fiberglass" membrane. I stand corrected (and embarrassed, as I made this same mistake on rv.net.)

EPDM and TPO are working roofs, but they usually have so many caulked...

Re: Winnebago Trend / Itasca Viva on Ram ProMaster

Odd thing from the WGO website -- the roof is a rubber (EPDM or TPO) membrane. Not sure how big a downer this is.

Admin edit: confirmed by email from Winnebago - the roof covering on the...

Re: Winnebago Trend / Itasca Viva on Ram ProMaster

My only concern is that the privacy curtains that come down... how tough is it to take those down and clean them should they get soiled. They don't seem to look easily removable. However, a 24 foot...

Re: Winnebago Trend / Itasca Viva on Ram ProMaster

In some ways, RVs have improved a lot in 25 years. In others, they have devolved. For example, with the price of wood skyrocketing a few years back, construction is almost laughable compared to the...

Re: Winnebago Trend / Itasca Viva on Ram ProMaster

I think the Trends will have some market. For a family that wants a basic motorhome that is fairly agile, with the fact that people can take long, hot showers (if using city water), the basics are...

Re: Winnebago Trend / Itasca Viva on Ram ProMaster

It is a little bit narrower (7' 6.5") than the usual eight footers, which may make it a tad more agile on the road. The Travato is 6' 11", so it is about four inches each side fatter than the...

Re: Winnebago Trend / Itasca Viva on Ram ProMaster

That makes sense... I am guessing that we won't see those cab chassis until EOY (I'm guessing for the 2014 1/2 year), probably around the time Dodge gets the diesel models ready to ship as well.

Re: Winnebago Trend / Itasca Viva on Ram ProMaster

I wonder if it is like the THOR ACE, where it has an electrical drop-down bed over the cab seats in some models.

The Rialta might be a floorplan, but from what I've seen, the bathroom that has to...

Re: Winnebago Trend / Itasca Viva on Ram ProMaster

I was looking at European "B"s (started by searching for "UK motorhome" and "German motorhome"), and see how they solve the bed issue. One maker with a floor plan similar to the Travato has a second...

Re: Ducato/ProMaster news...

One thing about the Trend, and I'm guessing from pictures. It doesn't seem to have any slide-outs. For some, that can be a deal-breaker, but I'm guessing the reason it wouldn't have slides is due...

Re: Ducato/ProMaster news...

The seller (to me) for a "B" is less of that road, but the fact that parking spaces are around 7' wide, made to be as narrow as possible to squeeze cars in. Combine that with a psychopathic dislike...

Re: Ducato/ProMaster news...

The "C" is tempting, especially with the drop-down bed, but I also need it to fit in a driveway, so a "B" it will be.

Re: Ducato/ProMaster news...

What is interesting is the drop-down beds. European "semi coach-builts" often use those in floorplans so one can have an ample area for sitting/living space, then just push a switch to drop down the...

Re: Ducato/ProMaster news...

Nice find. I have not found a single shred of info other what you found on that "C" model anywhere, except a "Coming Soon" on Camping World's site, and an empty slot with the name on WGO's site. ...

Re: Ducato/ProMaster news...

There is also build quality. The Sprinter Cs i've looked at have more room and a slide or two... but materials, fit, and finish are a definite tier lower than any modern "B".

I have considered a...
