We are having a record heat wave this week. 80 yesterday and 80 again today here in Minneapolis/St. Paul. There has never been anything remotely like this in my 42 years in Minnesota.

Only in the northeast section of the United States and eastern Canada can you find abundant maple forest trees and accommodating weather to make pure maple syrup. Those conditions don't exist...

I'm afraid this years maple sugaring efforts are being wiped out. The weather is not cooperating. You have to have freezing overnights and daytime temps up around 40F. We haven't had that consistent...

We still have no snow coverage in the Twin Cities and we are about to break a record for the latest date in the winter that the temperature does not go below 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
