Chiracahua NM has a nice campground. Fortunately for B owners you can get in. I think they have a 40 foot limit for a practical reason. You will bottom out and get hung up on the road depression...

You can buy the pies right next to the Capitol Reef campground in a little restored pioneer farm house. They are individual pies. In the nearby town of Torrey, UT you'll find a few nice restaurants...

Humboldt Redwoods State Park is where we camped. Be prepared to not see the sun. :) Also Muir Woods just north of San Francisco is worth a stop.

I guess what I am getting at is you might find campgrounds closed of all kinds in the north leaving you with Walmarts and such for overnights even if you boondock or desire where the tent campers go....
