Re: Mike Wendlends lithium batteries
Bob,
There should be no floor cutout with lithium ion batteries. What I saw in the Roadtrek video was metal trays with fastening latches that held 8 3.2v cells. Gerrym51 said he counted 5 trays. I...

Re: Mike Wendlends lithium batteries
Back to Wendland's RV. :)
I took the liberty to arrange the Prismatic 3.2v 180ah battery cells that I guessed for Wendland's RV that could deliver 1,800ah and I compared it to what I think I will...

Re: Mike Wendlends lithium batteries
Marko,
Previously in this thread I posted this. Your 20" tall theory will not fit anywhere and the batteries look as if they need to be in trays attached under the van. Unlike lead acid they do...

Re: Mike Wendlends lithium batteries
Plugging and hookups are indeed a choice not a requirement, but our use of our B will be the same in use and function regardless of choice and location. That was a goal.

Re: Mike Wendlends lithium batteries
Wendland's new CS is not all electric. He has propane and a propane stove top.
As for all electric, I will soon have it and will know more soon. None of you have ever had an 800ah battery bank to...

Re: Mike Wendlends lithium batteries
Yeah, but Wendland has a Sprinter. We don't know if you'll change your mind yet. Haven't you been through about three model decisions this year already? :)
The air conditioners are anywhere from...

Re: Mike Wendlends lithium batteries
There is a stealth appeal taking the air conditioner off the roof but you see more and more Sprinter vans with air conditioning on the roof now. We will be so stealth with ours that we will look no...

Re: Mike Wendlends lithium batteries
Going by the video of the battery bank they focused on very briefly and searching the web to find a battery that looked similar the closest I could come up with was this one - a LiFePO4 Prismatic...

Re: Mike Wendlends lithium batteries
I do want to test in the BLM land desert near Quartzsite in February to see how all the systems work.
Edit: The more I think about this, I don't think I could sit long enough to test the systems...

Re: Mike Wendlends lithium batteries
The 5.5 hours seems about right. A dealer in Minnesota said it was tested but deliberately wide open to run constantly and they got 4.5 hours or thereabouts. We have never run an air conditioner that...

Re: Mike Wendlends lithium batteries
Arlo,
Have you tried testing the limits of how much air conditioning you can get off your batteries?
I am getting an 800 ah battery lithium ion battery system and went through an analysis where...

Re: Mike Wendlends lithium batteries
I remember that one. Did anyone figure out how all that worked? What I was referring to was instead of discreet batteries that in theory are batteries that look the same as the lead acid and drop in...

Re: Mike Wendlends lithium batteries
I posted my guess as to what Roadtrek is doing in Marko's LiFePO4 Battery thread just now.
They seem to be fast and loose with numbers such as the cycles reported up to 5,000 for lithium ion...
