That's good to know - thanks. I had figured that I might have to run it through the inverter. Running it straight off the the generator is way more efficient.

I agree - larger genset needed for typical setups.

It takes roughly 50 amps DC to run the 5000 BTU A/C in my van...

I've seen 55, 60 & 65 dB(A) noted on different sites. 65 dB(A) seem to come from manufacturer now. Huge diff between 55 db and 65 db!
