Re: Dometic RM2310

Worked for me. I figure the touch method can be useful for other things too, like testing if an electrical outlet is live. Don't need no stinking voltmeter!

Anyway, thanks again for all your...

Re: Dometic RM2310

Well, the fridge is up and running but it was a strange road to get there.

I started through the troubleshooting guide. Checking all the wiring behind the fridge, I noticed the DC neg ground...

Re: Dometic RM2310

No problem. Just a few minutes ago I tried it again while plugged in...just in case. Still no joy.

Tomorrow I'll start working through the troubleshooting guide.

Re: Dometic RM2310

Thanks for the info Mike. I'm going to try some of your suggestions later today.

Sort of. The manual says to turn the temp knob all the way clockwise, then back CCW a quarter turn, which...

Re: Dometic RM2310

Thanks for the link AmCruiser but I already have the manual. I also have an 88 page Dometic diagnostics pdf that I'm trying to work through. I'm starting to think it might be the igniter switch.

Re: Dometic RM2310

Just wanted to bump this thread because we're still having trouble with this fridge.

Still can't get it to light on propane. So if we're camping off the grid I'd have to run the generator pretty...

Re: Dometic RM2310

Thanks Mike. Yes, the propane was filled and is flowing to other appliances (i.e. stove).

I took off the outside cover, revealing the back side of the fridge. I dusted out the compartment with...

Re: Dometic RM2310

Yeah. Over the last week I must have pushed that button 100 times. Never lit. Never even saw a spark. We took it for a short 2-day camping trip. And even plugged into 110V it didn't cool that...

Re: Dometic RM2310

What does that mean?

The instructions say to hold the button in for 10 seconds after it lights. Of course, which I never have to do because it doesn't light.

Re: Dometic RM2310

Yes. I hold the one button in while pushing the starter. It does make a snapping sound. Just no ignition. Should I be able to see a spark?

Re: Dometic RM2310

Yes, the propane is turned on. I lit the stove burner and it worked fine.

I think it might electrical, because I don't even see a spark when I hit the igniter.

Dometic RM2310

And for the next of my noob questions...

I have a Dometic RM2310 3-way. It works fine in 110V mode. But in 12V mode it doesn't cool down. I've had it there for a couple hours and the freezer...
