The Kuat I have tips down and with bikes still on the rack you can open the rear doors. I can't open the door with the Spare tire but you would be able to do so.

Looks good! What is that gadget on the end of the rack? (extreme end, away from the van).
That is a clamp to hold the bike if you need to perform maintenance, tires etc.

Unfortunately it is an issue....I went thru this.........too much bounce to put it simply. May fail the rack. I was told it is fine on a 144 WB so I lucked out. Doesn't mean a failure will occur...
