For $10, that has to be one of the best investments a qualifying traveler can make.
If we had US citizenship, we'd absolutely have a pair of senior passes in a few years, when we'd qualify.

The altitude thing, can become problematic after Labor Day, for precip. It is hit and miss as you say apparently. Were your observations last year, in 2012?
