From that perspective I could do conversion in a few hours, just stuff good components in and be done. It took me months to do my conversion, and bulk of my time was spent on quality "stuffing".

A very generic statement which would not be true in my reality. Most often than not assembly line equates to higher not lower quality and in a well-engineered manufacturing offers less restrictions...
