Our latch would catch and not pop out. I thought it needed adjusted or filed. Once I removed the face plate it was catching on, I found the face plate was on upside down. The open square hole for the latch is wider on one side, flipped it from top to bottom and all fixed. The plate also has like a G imprint on it. The G was upside down on top side of latch, now its on the lower side and right side. Not sure if this was a factory issue or 1st owner had it apart. Works like a champ now.
