On my 1999 Dodge Roadtrek 170 there is a plastic shield screwed into the wall of the wheel well at the rear driver's side wheel. It bends under the van and is attached to the frame rail. It looks like it is there to protect the fuel tank filler line that runs along the outside of the frame rail there. Does anyone else have this? Is it original to the van or is it a Roadtrek addition?
I need to remove it in order to get at the rear shock upper bolt that runs through the frame rail. But I'd like to be sure of its purpose before I start messing with it.
