Ahhh - fridge problems

Ok team,
So last week I took a 3000 mileish trip around Colorado and back. (GREAT time!) Before I left, I plugged my fridge in and it worked great. Unplugged it, opened the gas, and turned setting to gas. Didn't work, so cleaned the burner and made sure that was working. Success, burner working, but the fridge still didn't work. (Left it running for 24 hours)

Switched it back to electric and it didn't even work on electric now. So had to take a cooler on the trip (big bummer because it took up a lot of room).

Any ideas of what could be wrong?

Maybe a fuse at the converter? IF you think this is it, do you know what fuse runs the fridge?

are you making heat? either from electric or gas?

does the top of the tubing feel hot ( really hot!) by the cooling fins?

check the fuses- on my PW there is another fuse!- hidden BEHIND the black plastic panel lower left- in addition to the fuses inside the black box

and do you have any lights or indicators on the fridge panel above the door?

I was making heat, but not anymore.

Behind the black plastic panel? Where is that located?

No indicator lights on mine. It's an old RM 2310.

Hey Mike,
I checked all my fuses at the converter and all look good. What is this black plastic panel? I am wondering if I am missing a fuse somewhere.

on the backside of my dometic ( and a few other dometic models I have seen on trailers and other RV's) on the lower left is a black plastic cover over a circuit board which has 1 or 2 fuses on it.
...and on my PW there is yet another fuse behind this...part of the RV build- and I only found it as I was trying to meter power through to the fridge.

you have a .pdf of the manual so you can get an overview of how it works?

I guess mine doesn't have one. That's weird that it wouldn't have a circuit board?

Then the only thing I can think of is the relay?

Could it be that it needs refrigerant?

the "refrigerant" is ammonia- if it leaked...you'd smell it

Just got off the phone with Dometic. Very helpful bunch!!! So mine is a manual and doesn't have a circuit board or fuses (in other words, it's old! lol) They gave me a couple trouble shooting tips...plug it in, check the heating element, maybe the thermostat.

So I will check a couple more things.

If the fridge wasn't working on LP or electric, how likely is it that it's the heating element?
