I am currently looking at a PW Excel RD. This has the tri fold sofa when makes into a 54" x 81" double which sleeps east-west. Wondering if anyone has one one and how does it sleep.

It’s funny that I just saw this.

Not even 5 minutes ago my wife and I were complaining about our sofa bed. We sleep north/south on it. It’s roughly a king size as our model van is wider than a stock Chev Express.

We have a 2011 Roadtrek P210 with the folding sofa for a bed.

We’ve been on the road about 10 days.
We usually snowbird here in AZ for about 3 months at a time and this is our 2nd time down with this van that we bought a couple years ago.

Last year I didn’t seem to have much of an issue as I just had to find the sweet spot.

I do suffer from a bad back.

This year neither one of us seem to be very comfortable. It seems to be developing valleys and holes LOL.

Perhaps maybe the foam is just old?

My wife wants me to take the sofa out and build a base, but I think I might cut a piece of plywood to go over the sofa?

I should mention since we bought the van we put two layers of foam over the sofa as well and can still feel the valleys/holes thru it.

We have had Class A motorhomes for years. We decided to downsize as we age to make life easier plus we like Boondocking off road with it.

Love the rest of the van!

Good luck!

I put two single memory foam toppers side-by-side on our RT210 king size sofa bed. There is still space on the side not covered but that's OK. Since the sofa can be setup as a king or two separate beds the toppers can work in ether arrangement. I think they are 2-inches thick. They have been very comfortable for us. We rarely put the bed up into sofa mode, but it is handy to have when we want to put passengers in the back.

Couldn't an upholstery shop replace the foam?
