I have just purchased a 1999 Roadtrek 190 with no awning. I would like to buy a used awning that is currently for for sale locally. It was installed on a travel trailer previously and is 8' x 10' size. Will this work? What brackets would I need and should I have an RV dealer install it?

Thanks for your advice.

Typically, the awnings I see on Travel Trailers look different than what I see on vans. Travel Trailers tend to have awnings with exposed vertical support arms that rest against the flat side of the the Travel Trailer when in the traveling or stored position. That wouldn't work well on the curved side of a van.

Vans have awnings like what is at this link: http://www.fiammausa.com/products/awnings.asp?Fam=F01

I think they're referred to as "projection" awnings. You turn a crank to wind them out.

Thanks all. Decided not to purchase an awaning at this time. Will check out the prices for new ones in the US first.
