Hi Everyone.
I have a 2006 Roadtrek 21 Popular. The dash battery light was on. The cabin battery was dead. The motor battery was fine. I replaced the cabin battery and the light is off. The rv tec said that means something is wrong with the eletrical system and the cabin and motor batteries arent connected. Has this ever happened to you and is this true?

What you describe is possible. If your van has an Isolator then a failed or failing Isolator can allow the motor battery to discharge into the cabin battery.

2006 was around when Roadtrek was switching over from Isolators to Separators.

Has the problem reoccurred since replacing the cabin battery?

If you're able to post photo of what's under the hood up against the firewall I might be able to tell you if you have an Isolator or a Separator.

Both batteries are working fine since i replaced the cabin battery. The truck battery has never been a problem. I was unable to send you the picture. Do you have another address i can send it to?

The battery light on dash indicates a charging problem. If it all seems to be working fine now that's good. Ideally, you'd have someone check all battery connections & grounds & alternator and alternator wiring etc. to make sure they're good. The RV tech should have been able to explain it better.
