As I was removing the house batteries last fall to bring the batteries home and put into the garage, I needed to pull the battery compartment tray out further than we needed anytime before when we'd check water level in the batteries. The left side dropped and I find that I bent one of the slide rails. Closer inspection has the plastic piece at the end of the slider attached to the chassis was also broken, which I probably pulled the drawer out too far and broke the plastic as I believe it's purpose is a stop. Unfortunately, these slides are welded on to both the chassis and drawer. I have a welder, but this is going to be a little too detailed for my knowledge level to fix.

For the future, I'm going to cut a piece of wood to support the drawer so that when I have to pull the drawer out far next time it has support at it's furthest point and not completely dependent on the side rails. It also seems that the amount of "overlap" between the coach and drawer slides with the intermediate piece isn't sufficient to support 150 pounds being supported by about 1-2" of slide rail.

Does anyone have any recommended slide rails to use that will provide better support for this, or thoughts or other ideas?

The crappy battery slideouts on my 2007 190P totally gave out. I jammed wood wedges around each battery, which so far have kept them secure. They are easy to remove if needed to access the batteries. Since switching to AGM, I haven't had to do this.

We had the same problem. Our repair guy was, able to put new slides from Accuride. They fit and work great. It was a bit tedious job. The Accuride company customer service is very helpful.

This may have some info if you go any further with that tray.
Something that helped the loading on the slides was placing a .25" nylon spacer under the tray. Takes a portion of the battery weight but still allows the tray to slide.
