Hi All,

Does anyone have experience in replacing the black water tank in a 2018 Erwin Hymer Carado Banff or similar Roadtrek? Where can they be purchased? Thanks in advance.

Wish I could help here..but after so many years (2010 Roadtrek SS Agile 2500-171,000 miles) we totally got rid of our black tank and installed a Thetford porta potti cassette 3 years ago! No more plumping, hoses, macerator mess. Might not be for everyone but never regretted it!

The OP could try Mobilife RV in Kitchener as they bought out a lot the extra parts at auction. Tanks for many older models are not available, and anything Hymer may even less than others.

Depending on why it needs to be replaced, there is a good chance it could be repaired.

Thank you!
That tank is listed for a Sprinter not a Promaster

If you use the part finder on that the site, it comes up with nothing for a Carado Banf black tank. I have no idea why it is being suggested as correct.

Best would be to call Mobilife RV and see what they say as it highly unlikely that tank will fit.

Can you tell me about what it cost to replace the flush toilet with a porta potti ... really thinking of doing this. Have a Carado Axion and really just over the black tank hassle.

I have Thetford 402 in my Sprinter conversion which is original installation. To see of this is possible you need to check:

1. Is there available space. Thetford cassettes include waste and flush water tanks and bowl. C402C Cassette® Toilet - Thetford ($650 plus installation ($$$)

2. Is there access to remove cassette, most are through side wall, in my case it is through sliding door. We have a quickly deployable privacy curtain if necessary. (side wall cutting and finish ($$$$)

3. Optional ventilation is from the bottom of this particular unit; in your case you could somehow connect through the existing black tank top hole and the vent but it is through the bottom. See rectangular vent in my case.

4. And you need 12V for flush pump.

We have ours since 2013 and like it a lot. I always carry a spare cassette which I rarely use but it gives us peace of mind with over 10 gal. of waste storage.
