Cleaning a Fantastic Fan Screen While on the Road

Anyone have any tips to clean the screen on the fantastic fans in our 2008 Roadtreks? If we were home, I'd use high pressure water and clean the screen to remove that black oily debris, but that's not an option while on the road. Tips/tricks?

We have never had to clean ours over the years. Where is the black oily debris coming from?

If it gets that bad go to a DIY carwash and pressure wash it if you choose to while taking the bugs off the windshield.

My guess is that it's a mix of lint from clothes, towels, and other airborns, etc, and the oily aspect coming from cookinairborne, it do all the cooking while on the road and keep the flame on the stove as low as I can to cook things specifically because I don't want a greasy ceiling.

On my ceiling fan the easiest way I found was to use my portable air compressor and gently blow up through it. That works for debris and leaves, etc. Not sure how I'd go about getting grease off without removing it for cleaning. I've done that as well.

We do 90% our cooking outside over fire with my Mountain Man Gril or on a propane DIY burner that regulates the flame better than the burners inside our 00D190P. It also gets hot cooking inside with the jet engine fan going. No issue with cleaning the fan screen with a small cordless vac when needed.

Our 2006 Roadtrek has a screen that has about 12 screws that have to be unscrewed to remove. I vacuum it, then brush with a damp cloth. We don't do much cooking in the RV so we don't have a bad oily residue issue.

the screen just pops out in my 2011 and I just used a kitchen sponge and hot soapy water on mine but I don't cook much inside and it's usually in my toaster oven

Pop it out and use a little dish soap. I'm not sure why this is an issue. Maybe I'm missing something?

Thanks all. I was just looking to see what others do and tricks or tips to clean their screens while on the road. Wasn't aware that newer fans have a clip in screen as ours has the 6 screws holding the screen in.
