An RVer who recently sold a 2019 Tiffin 32SA asked where to find reliable owner information and discussion about the Coach House Platinum IV, especially the 271 floor plan, as they plan to downsize for two-person travel after retirement. Another member with recent Coach House experience said they downsized from larger diesel pushers and a 32SA to a used Coach House 261XLRT, and reported being impressed with its ride, handling, towing performance, family-owned manufacturer, and build quality...

Hello all. I'm trying to find the best place to get information on the Couch House Platinum IV MH, especially the 271 floor plan. It's just my wife and myself and we just sold our 2019 Tiffin 32SA and trying to downsize a little. From my research so far I like the fact that they are a family owned business and history seems to be the goal.
Any information on the best forums or places to discuss questions with owners would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Ritchie

We just recently downsized ( again ) from a 32SA to a Coach House 261XLRT with theater seats , single slide that was a consignment at Coach House Factory in Nokomis , Fl. We full timed for 10 years in a 40’ Allegro Bus and 45’ Entegra Anthem and the 32SA was a mistake !
Since purchasing the CH we’ve traveled from Fl to NE , out to Indiana and back to NE and are very impressed with ride , handling and we are towing a Canyon pickup . The RV is definitely for 2 and takes some getting used to but it fits our plans !
Yes CH is a Family owned operation and build a very nice motorhome although pricey which is why we chose to purchase used . There is a low mileage CH271 , 2 slide for sale in Merrimack NH .
Good Luck !

Thank you for that info. We'll definitely consider used if the right coach comes along. When I retire at the end of next year it'll be just us 2 and we want to see the country. Good luck and enjoy your travels. Thanks again

Another thought : the E450 has a 14,500 lb capacity and my understanding is most B+ manufacturer's are considerably under on the front but very close on the rear axle . As an example when I weighed our CH261 with Full Fuel , Full Propane , 1/2 Potable Water , Black/Grey Tanks empty :
front axle was 3,600
rear axle was 9,520
Gross 13,120 leaving 1,380. Which sounds great BUT there is really no way to shift any weight from rear to front . I only point this out because the 271 with rear slide will add more weight to the rear axle and I suspect under similar conditions could put it over capacity !

I'm new to the CH models but I think the 272 had the rear slide. We're looking at the 271 that has twin beds in the back and the one front driver's side slide. I did read a comment from someone who owns a 272 and he said he was close to weight especially on the right rear axle. He thought it must be the slide as well

I meant to ask why was the 32SA a mistake? Ours was a 2019 and had relatively few problems but we quickly realized it's probably great for tailgating and short trips, but not really suited for extended travels. At least in our experience

The floor plan with 2 slides , King Bed , entertainment/ fireplace was a really nice layout for 34’ but the F53 Chassis was awful even with the original owner adding every possible aftermarket suspension part .

Our first Class A was a 1996 Holiday Rambler on a P30 chassis then a 1995 Holiday Rambler on a Ford Chassis and both handled very good . After those all DP’s .

The 2019 Open Road was always white knuckle especially around Tractor Trailers not to mention LOUD and dash full of rattles !

Our current CH drives like a pickup with a nice quiet cab .

Good info. I agree with all of your statements about the 32sa. It was out first and only coach so we didn't have a point of reference. I must knew I didn't want a Diesel so I just assumed it is what it is.
