Edit a Post

I am unable to figure out how to edit my post. Can you help please? I've read the directions but there doesn't seem to be an edit button.

Linda,

The edit button for a post is only active for a short period of time and then disappears. MarkoPolo might know the amount of time but I am pretty sure it is not much more than a day if that.

I don't know how long it's available - I seem to have it available all the time but I still have some permissions from when I operated the forum. I do have to be logged in to see it.

If it is to add a link or change a price I can probably do it no problem.

It's less than 24 hours. I just checked and I cannot edit a post now that I made last night.

Currently posts can be edited for about 6 hours after a post is made. If you need an assist after that time has elapsed just message a moderator and we can help. There are several reasons for the limit and they include:

1. the possibility that a purloined account might be logged into and content altered or destroyed.
2. it's often better to respond to a thread with an update rather than to edit an existing post because folks don't go back and read content they've already read and so the update will be overlooked.
