Just down sized from a 33ft. Winnebago class c to the Entegra Coach Ethos 20T.
Lots of new to me electronics in it and would like to know what items are or can be run on the inverter?

To answer your question, we need to know your battery type and total amp hour rating, plus the output capacity of inverter.

It has a 1,000 Watt inverter, 2 6 volt group 31 AGM batteries at 100 Amp hours.

No where I could find do they same if it is modified sine wave or pure sine wave, which often means it is modified sine wave and would likely not be a great choice for sensitive electronics.


At 1000 watts and two batteries running a 5.8cf compressor frig, the batteries are probably not going to be near full much of the time, so using the inverter at high load for any length of time would not be good for life even if the batteries would supply the 100 amps of so required to get to 1000 watts of output. IMO, you will probably find that the 190 watts of solar, in average sun will probably be almost all used by the frig most days, depending on how much the frig uses. Frig power use can be very highly variable between vans and quality of the installation and venting, we have seen on here. Depending on how much use you have beyond the frig, you will likely need to be getting a good charge every couple of days unless you got really perfect high sun conditions.


1000 watts will not run the AC or convection oven, especially on only 200ah, but in general also. No hair dryer unless very small or electric heater. Most other stuff will run on 1000 watts, but if modified sine wave you likely will find it not very good for some electronics and also electric motors don't like it in general.

FYI - We have a 2022 Ethos 20T. For the most part you can run everything but the microwave and ac. There are also a number of , but not all, AC outlets that do not function thru the inverter. The dual single to king bed conversion is wonky but we’ve gotten it to work with some additional clamps and a small footstool. As designed it wasn’t functional.

Note: Good luck getting and service/support. This is a Jayco product and their support is dismal.

Agreed. No hairdryer - unless it’s on low and/or cold air it’s out of the question.

Thor bought them. The problems I've seen on the Ethos FB page have been simply dreadful.

Location of inverter on Ethos Entegra 20T

So a couple of months back I took my Entegra into Jayco due a recall issue. Took 2 hours and they said my unit wasn't an affected version.

This past weekend I went to Yosemite Lakes for my first trip since. I was plugged into 20amp power but none of the AC plugs or USB plugs worked.

When I started the generator they did, I'm wondering if Jayco turned off the inverter or didn't connect things back correctly.

Anyone know where I can find the inverter on my RV so I can look at it?
