I own a 2001 Roadtrek and I would like to be able to walk/lie on the roof in order to clean it thoroughly. I have been using a long washing brush but nothing takes the place of scrubbing with a hand sponge. I weigh about 165 lbs.

I have not attempted to climb on the roof as yet. Anyone have a comment?

Thanks,
Banjoman

I have an '05 and wouldn't think of it. I can reach every nook and cranny from a ladder, one side then the other. I also use a expandable painters pole with the soft brush. Murphy hangs around and I don't want to damage my Trek....and me - if you happen to slide off. Safe travels, Ron.

I use a ladder also. I put a foam "bumper" at the top of the ladder and lean it against the van where there are support pillars. That's how I waxed my RT roof when I had it.

My current van is not a Roadtrek. I have been up on the fiberglass roof when I was installing lighting in my garage 8) I would think RT roofs are as strong or stronger than mine. But, it is one thing being up on the roof when it is dry. It would be very slippery if it was wet and or soaped up. Very easy to slip.

Any way you could rig up some sort of scaffolding over where you park it?
Or set something similar up you could drive under, clean a section then drive a
little farther under it, until you've achieved the cleaning results you desire?
Might be safer, and potentially a lot cheaper.
