Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a Roadtrek and it may have experienced some water damage. I am wanting to re-upholster the walls/AC ceiling. I can be handy but not sure were to even star. Any ideas and or suggestions in the Phoenix area?

These are notes I tucked away. I used the home made recipe and it worked well.

Stain remover

Use for water stains on RT interior fabric.

1 tsp. DAWN.
3-4 tblsp. PEROXIDE
Couple tblsp. Baking soda

Scrub

Hey Dave. I had terrible leaks over the header from the 3 marker lights on the roof. Someone from the Chevy RT Facebook group recommended Woolite with Oxy fabric stain remover. It was awesome. My stains were a deep brown. It removed all. Fantastic product.

How did you use the Woolite product? Spray on whip off? Just curious as I had the well nuts leak a few years ago and I have a few stains I'd like to get rid of. Thanks

Heavy water staining in RVs can be an indication of worse issues in the form of mold in the wall, floor, or ceiling. Being closed up for long periods can make mold much worse than in a ventilated place. Buying used, you don't know how often it got wet, or how fast and thoroughly it was dried out.

The pictures appear to show pretty widespread stain, so it probably would be advisable to remove the wood bed parts and some of the rear upholstered panels to check for mold. A bit of work for certain, but could prevent much more serious issues.

Other than taking it apart is there another way that I can know if there is mold in it?
