Not sure where or how this all got started and what a wonderful idea. Have you ever been helped or assisted by a ROAD RANGER?

Here in Florida some years ago I started seeing these Road Ranger Trucks helping to form a cone of protection around broken down RVs, Vehicles in general along the US Highways. As I have started seeing them in other areas other than Florida and was wondering if they do anything other than protecting the vehicle broken down on the side of the roadway. I think they are great!!!

After I started this post I did a little research and found this link to the Florida Road Rangers, Began here in Florida on Aug 2015 :https://www.fdot.gov/traffic/roadrangers/home.htm

In trying to find some history has been a bit difficult. But what I did learn. Some years back a local Ford Dealership in conjunction with both a radio station and Auto Insurance began a roadside assistance truck. Staying on the roadway during pick hoursSome FAQ: https://www.fdot.gov/traffic/roadrangers/faq.htm.

Welcome more state feedbacks and History inputs. Thanks to them who have provided feedback on this Topic.

As far as I can see, you can file this one under the same category as all the other cases in which we have been stenciling corporate logos on every public space and selling "naming rights" for branding nominally public services. In the current political environment, this is much easier to do than raising taxes to pay for necessary government functions. Don't be surprised if we soon start seeing "Good Sam" campgrounds in State Parks.

Let's pass on the essentially political discussion about whether this is good or bad.
