Get-Away Van vintage values

Hi all, I've had my 1981 Get-Away Van for about 12 years. I spent about 2 1/2 years searching for the right one...so I was familiar with the prices on these types/vintage of rigs. The current market seems quite different than it was back in the day. Are decent 80's - 90's camper vans just harder to find? Or has the "Vanlife" culture driven prices through the roof and availability through the floor?

I'd say prices are through the roof, but not sure supply is through the floor. But I'd suggest you stay in the '2000 model years and up. A lot of aging happens on vehicles and rv components. Going 20+ years and older just compounds that.

We have had our 1995 Xplorer 230 on a Dodge 3500 for about 10 years. Now has 67,000 miles on her. Knock on wood with little to no problems. None age related just normal tires and brakes. Did have radiator replaced which is only thing I might consider age related. Only thing that has been constant problem is Onan 2800 gasoline generator. I own several older vehicles. One is a 2004 Dodge Durango with 284,095 miles on it. I have replaced the radiator and recently 1 of the 2 water pumps. Other than that and normal tires and brakes replaced nothing else. I would never let mileage or age stop me from buying a vehicle.

I think supply is a factor but the biggest bump in cost/price comes from the fact new rigs comparably outfitted now go for 100k plus. If you can live with an older rig you can save a bunch of money but that doesn't mean they will be cheap.
