Hi. New to this forum having moved over from the fiberglass forum. My wife and I have been towing a 13’ Scamp for a number of years. We’ve decided to look for a Class B now that we’ve both retired. So I’m here to learn what I can from your experiences and hopefully find a camper van that fits our lifestyle.

Similar story here, and we still have the Scamp. Mom passed on her Roadtrek to us when she was no longer physically able to travel. Timing was perfect, since with two teens, the 13' Scamp was getting a bit crowded. The Roadtrek pulls the Scamp without breaking a sweat, and having separate bedrooms is sweet!
Full retirement is still a ways off, but empty nest years will be here soon, and my wife and I hope to take some longer road trips in the Roadtrek. But the Scamp is forever! It's a guest apartment at home and eventually (we hope) a caboose for grandkids.
I really like the bed in the Roadtrek. After the tiny, crawl-over bed in the Scamp, it's huge! The back part is a folding sofa with belted seating for kids and enough room for all of us to have a meal or a card game. In the half-twin bed configuration shown it's easy to enter and exit without disturbing your partner, but it still feels like you're sharing the same bed. My wife loves to lounge, read, and cross-stitch on the bed during the day with the rear doors open wide to the views.

PRO: Low profile roof with recessed A/C, reliable gas drivetrain, V8 power, great transmission (6-speed HD automatic), 16-18 mpg, easy to find service, high tow rating, fully enclosed wet bath, clever aisle shower extension, large rear bed layout, traditional propane appliances, exterior storage compartments
CON: smaller cabin than new Euro vans, limited headroom, only sleeps two, low ground clearance, limited battery capacity, lack of storage for bulky items, fussy infotainment system, fit & finish issues, orphan model
