I joined this forum because I am thinking about buying a class b motorhome. The one I am interested is a class b+ the Pleasure Way Plateau XL TD. I posted that in a thread, and was told in a reply that the Plateau XL TD is actually a class c. What determines if a motorhome is a class A, B, or C? According to Pleasure-way that model ius a class B+.

There are many threads on this topic. Anything built on a cut-away chassis is a C. B+ is a marketing term used and abused by some of the manufacturers that causes alot of confusion. There is nothing wrong with a C or a B+, but it isn't a B. A Class B is a van.

If you are looking at the Ascent, you might also want to look at the Agile. Very similar products.

Wow, I was going to chime in here and say that the Plateaus were all class B's, but before I did that I Googled up the Plateau XL TD, and sure 'nuf, it is a class C. I thought they used the name Pursuit for their C's. Oh well, you learn something all the time.

I like the Pleasure Way line, and we would have bought one if we hadn't ended up with a Great West Legend SE. I'm trying to figure out whether I would have made the choice for the Great West had I known they were going to go under. We're pretty happy with the rig overall, but we did get juked out of about $3K to $5K of unpaid warranty work.

If you are interested in good layouts in Class B's, you might also look at Leisure Travel Vans. I've been impressed with what they put out.
