how difficult is it to get older roadtrek parts

It's not difficult to find replacement parts for an older Roadtrek, It's Impossible! I have a 1999 Dodge Roadtrek 190 Popular and when I try to find parts for it, all I see is the word "discontinued" every where I look.
It's a real good idea to stay a way from any Roadtrek that is 10 years old or older.

This is an old thread, but there was a recent one with a similar question, so I'll also reply here to this post saying that it's impossible to find replacement parts for older Roadtreks. That is not my experience with my 27 year old Roadtrek 170. It takes some effort and is not always cheap, but I have had good success finding parts, both for the van and for the rv. It is worth it for me because these are great RV's. I don't think that there is anything like them being made today.

It is a 550 kilometre drive from our home to Mobilife in Kitchener, Ontario that we have made on multiple occasions since we bought our RT in 2012.
IMO, local RV repair shops don’t have the knowledge or experience with older roadtreks to merit our trust. Mobilife has a Roadtrek service section managed by a former employee of the Roadtrek factory that made our RT. The Mobilife technicians are both knowledgeable and experienced.
We are headed there later this summer to have them service our RT

That is my experience too. So I do almost all the work on my Roadtrek myself. But, to be fair, everything is packed together so closely under my 170 that it isn't always easy to get to everything without pulling things apart -- I can do it even if it takes a long time, but most mechanic shops won't.

Lol … Your statement actually reflects what a local mechanic told me in 2014 when he was working on my RT: “I hate working on these units because they are so small”.

vanlife bought the plastic injection molds so it's not that difficult, most items are standard and mines a Chevy so it's super easy to find parts for the van. the rear bumper piece I bought from vanlife for my 2011 doesn't look too bad and it's fading like the rest to match

Last I heard, there was a difference between the Dodge and Chevy molds. After Roadtrek went through its financial difficulties, there was some confusion about these injection molds and about where they ended up. Do you know if "van.life" is currently making these parts new? Are they making both the Chevy and Dodge parts?

I was able to get the Dodge fiberglass step and side storage door from "mobiliferv" in Canada some years ago, but I think they were surplus parts that they inherited from Roadtrek and still had in stock.

That was the question when I last got in tough with them a few years ago, if they actually have the molds or not or if they might get them. Last I heard, neither they nor anyone else was making these fiberglass parts new -- has anyone heard more recent news about this?

on another thread someone said they tried to buy all of the old plastic injection molds from roadtrek and they were trying to track down one at the time that they couldn't find for the ac cover, so you'll have to ask
